RWE and TotalEnergies conclude a long-term green hydrogen supply deal

RWE, Germany's leading energy utility, has entered into a long-term agreement to supply French company TotalEnergies with approximately 30,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually starting in 2030. This deal, which extends until 2044, marks the biggest contract for carbon-neutral hydrogen from a German electrolysis facility. RWE will produce the hydrogen at its 300-megawatt plant in Lingen, scheduled to begin operations in 2027, and supply it to TotalEnergies' Leuna refinery in eastern Germany. The financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
