The energy crisis in Germany has led to higher electricity prices. Last year, the number of solar systems in the Free State of Thuringia increased significantly by almost 24,000 to almost 69,000. According to the Thuringian Ministry of Energy, the number had increased to around 93,000 by the beginning of October this year. These include many small, so-called balcony power plants. Many larger systems have been installed not only by private households but also by investors. According to forecasts by the Thuringian Energy Agency, there could be around 100,000 photovoltaic (PV) systems in the state by the end of the year.
